If you are just starting your business or thinking about starting a business, this is a "must attend" workshop-- It’s your first "step". You will learn the importance of choosing the name of your business, options in choosing your business structure, getting a business bank account and getting start-up financing.

Rose Matthews, a Business Development Counselor at the Fort Worth Business Assistance Center, is a veteran communications specialist who started her career as a metro reporter for the Kansas City Globe. Moving on to radio, Rose served as Director of Community Relations and host of “Rose Matthews’ Detroit” for Golden West Broadcasters. She served for 10 years as Media Outreach/Special Events Director for the National Association of Realtors and was selected as “Advertising Woman of the Year” by the Women’s Advertising Club of Detroit. Rose opened her full-service public relations and marketing firm in Washington, DC in 1995. Her clients included Ford Motor Company, The Xerox Company, the National Urban League, Northern Arizona University and the Enterprise Foundation.
Anne Barr, Franchise Opportunity Specialist
Anne Barr has over 26 years of experience in sales and marketing, six years as a franchisee. She has assisted over 367 business owners and purchasers to achieve their goals in career change, transition and exit strategy. She holds the designation of Certified Franchise Executive from the International Franchise Association, Certified Business Intermediary from the International Business Brokers Association and Board Certified Broker from the Texas Association of Business Brokers. As owner/operator of 4 successful businesses, Anne has proven skills in helping clients find the right "fit" in business ownership.

Reggi Sturns-Kemp is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Kemp & Sons General Services, Inc. Reggi has received extensive training over the years in employee staffing, training, placement, program development/implementation, and corporate organization from Fortune 500 Companies and Governmental entities. Reggi is a member of Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) and the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce (FWMBCC). Reggi received a Bachelor in Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University and a degree in Interior Architecture Design from the University of Oklahoma.

David Edmonds, Tarrant County College Small Business Development Center
David Edmonds has been the Director of the Tarrant County College (TCC), Small Business Development Center (SBDC), since 1995. He has been an employee of Tarrant County College District since 1989 and has served as Assistant Dean for Continuing Education, Adjunct Instructor of Business Management, Adjunct Instructor of Marketing and SBDC Counselor. Additionally, for the immediate past five academic years, Mr. Edmonds has served as an Adjunct Instructor of Business Management and Marketing at Texas Wesleyan University, School of Business in Fort Worth, Texas.
VelenaMcRae, Senior Stakeholder Specialist
Velena McRae is currently a Senior Stakeholder Specialist. She focuses on the local engagement of the payroll and practitioner community and stakeholder organizations to provide information about the policies, practices, and procedures the IRS uses to ensure compliance with the tax laws. Velena started her career with the IRS in 1994 as a Revenue Agent examining high income taxpayers, large businesses, Corporations, and Partnerships. For several years Velena specialized in Innocent Spouse cases and recently worked as an agent in the Abusive Transaction and Tax Avoidance schemes group.
